CHARLOTTE BIO
With 13 years industry experience, I learnt my trade initially as a Buyer for top British lifestyle brand, Ted Baker. Here I gained knowledge in understanding retail, meeting the needs of the customer, curating and editing collections and gaining an insight into how the public like to shop and fill their wardrobes. This ensured a foundation for being creative yet commercially minded and enabled me to appreciate the inner workings of a global brand, the importance of marketing and delivering the unexpected.
From here I went onto specialise in Fashion Styling and Photography Production for lead E-Commerce brands, Arcadia, Figleaves.com and Cocosa.com, creatively managing and maintaining the look and feel of the online photography and executing aspirational styling to the customer in a new environment which wasn’t bricks and mortar. Throughout this stage of my career I worked with and managed some incredibly talented teams, empowering them to be the best they could be and striving for quality all the work executed.
A real highlight was heading up a large studio team at I Heart Studios creating digital content for brands such as Harrods, Harvey Nichols, New Look, Jaeger, Aquascutum and many more.
In more recent years I took up the role as Freelance Production Manager and Producer for many luxury fashion and lifestyle brands working in house and agency side, producing advertising campaigns, billboards, bus sides, print and digital content and moving image.
Fashion and styling has always been close to my heart and intrinsically linked to my work (I started off in the fashion cupboard of Marie Claire at the tender age of 17!) and I am fortunate enough that my career has taken me worldwide to see how people like to shop and wear clothes. I’ve seen the impact dressing well can have, from securing a job, making business deals or rediscovering a new identity when moving onto a new life stage.
I have loved curating looks for fashion brands and have always strived to fulfil every brief whether from a Creative Director or individual client. Now it’s time to work one on one with clients to utilise my knowledge and help people feel their best.
Having recently started a family, I took a step away from Production and really want to help people on a personal level, showing them that any size, age or shape can look stylish.
In 2009, I studied with the British College of Journalism to gain a Diploma in Personal Styling which gave me the perfect introduction to the theory of understanding body shapes and how the shape and cut of clothing can enhance our figures. In 2016, I took further training with the London College of Style to gain Distinction on their Personal Styling Diploma course which is BAC accredited.
I started YOU ARE YOU with the sole aim of wanting to help improve others lives. Styling is most definitely the start and can lead you on an exciting journey discovering and evolving who you are and how you feel.
I’d love to have the opportunity to show you what a difference I can make.
YOU ARE YOU, nobody else. Be the best you, always.
